Sleep is not a “waste of time.”

A good definition and understanding of sleep has to take into account the fact that sleep is a biological activity of clearing out waste, strengthening the human animal, consolidating learning, forming memories, building muscle, and achieving optimum health, attitude, and cognitive function.

Sleep is a biological activity of adapting to the day’s environmental and biological demands, and preparing to live another day.
