Another Key to Good Mental and Physical Health: Exercise

Exercise is a key to good mental health, as well as good physical health. We do not seem to hear enough about the former, but exercise is key to keeping a flexible mind and maintaining memories. The brain is not in a vat; it is part of a nervous system which is part of a whole, entire, integrated organism. So we can look at it like this: ‘your nervous system: use it or lose it.’ Some studies have been done, thank goodness, showing that learning improves with exercise. It should match your own experience, anyway. Do as Robb Wolf says: ‘try it for 30 days, then see how you look, feel, and perform.’ Listen at home, or listen in your car on your cell phone as you drive around — as I do!
