Everyday Geometry: Rims
To make this rim, a company had to cut ten circles for decoration and had to cut ten circular openings for the bolts — in other words, they had to make two decagons in the circles. The center of each little circle is a vertex of a regular decagon. They have to cut holes every 36º radially around the circles. Math, when will we ever use it? It’s around you every day in more ways than you know.
