My electronic thermometer gave me a reading of 96.7 F at 5:10 PM…around when one’s temperature is supposed to be highest!
Conditions: I had just gotten home from riding my horse for 2 hours and 10 minutes (mostly walking and grazing, with some trot and canter); the temperature was upper 50s/lower 60s while I was out riding my horse in a t-shirt; I had some blueberries, Brie and nuts for a small breakfast at 8:30 AM; I had blackberries, grapes, nuts and some morsels of meat and mushroom at 11:30 AM.
That’s almost 2 degrees below the falsely sacrosanct 98.6 F!
Update (10:45 PM): I should add that I had 8 hours (+/- half hour) of sleep last night, and was physically active (though I didn’t go to the gym or have an intense workout) Friday, Saturday, Sunday and today. At 10:40 PM my temperature was 95.6 F the first time I took it, then 96.2 when I took it again. I figured the electronic thermometer would be fickle.
